My Leadership Development Experience at GE

GE’s Leadership Institute (aka GE Crotonville) is a magical place.

It’s a physical environment located in the southern part of the New York state where participants drop their daily activities to immerse themselves in the power of connecting human brains.

I was recruited into GE’s highly selective, two-year technology leadership development program comprised of four six-month rotations across business disciplines of software governance/IT acquisition, sales/marketing, sourcing digitization, and risk systems. I completed training and hands-on experience in the US and China in GE Energy Financial Services, GE Capital Equipment Finance, GE Commercial Finance, and GE Corporate.

As part of the curriculum, we had the opportunity to join by nomination, a select group of leaders around the world to kick off our leadership development experience at an early stage of our careers at GE Crotonville.

As time progressed, I was chosen for additional high-profile leadership development programs and completed six courses.

These are a few pictures of the many opportunities I had the privilege of participating in those courses that are designed to take theories to apply to real business scenarios.

Simply put, “TOGETHER, WE ALL RISE”. That is the philosophy, the mindset, the norm. How to build things bigger than ourselves to solve the world’s biggest challenges through technology and people.

In that process, you meet the world’s smartest people, extract your biggest strengths, and apply them to all areas of your personal and professional life.

I’m yet to meet a GEr who wouldn’t speak volumes of GE Crotonville.
